Hello and welcome to a hastily-created blog to serve former followers of AoD and any other random rugby union fanatics as well.
Now that rugby season is upon us, it seemed intolerable not to have somewhere to share our pain, our hopes and our squabbles.
Please pile in BTL! There will no doubt be much tinkering with the site. Suggestions for improvements are welcome but may be discarded out of hand. We do not possess Sag-like wizardry.

Bloody hell, just noticed we had no drinks in front of us. Crisis remedied.

Big Joe scores off the back of a ruck.
Billy runs off the back of the scrum, right. He’s stopped and England switch left. Heinz almost makes the line, but the big winger forces over the line.
14-0 England.

Wales are at 6s & 7s here. England line speed causing problems and Adams the latest to fumble the ball.

Ooh, that was close for Wales. Anscome steps round Joe and breaks into the England half. Tips almost gets to the England 22, before an excellent tackle brings him down.

Oh my, what in individual try. Welsh scrum just inside the England half. Davis breaks down the blind side and, after a big step, gets through the England line.

Big Break from Big Joe, down the middle into the Welsh 22. Only excellent timing from AWJ, to intercept the offload, diffuses the situation.

Another close one for Wales. Quick free-kick from a scrum and JDII fends 2 England players and gets the ball to North. He comes back inside, only for Anscome to fumble the pass.
Phew.

And I missed the end of the half, ’cause my stream fucked off.
I think I saw LCD pick off an overthrow at the Welsh lineout and fall over the line to score.
21-7 at half time.

I thought England were gonna get murdered by Wales, looking at the lineups.

Still not convinced by the Daly FB/Tony wing combo. Think they should be switched.

OneBrainCell gets a wee talking-to for trying to crush AWJ’s larynx on the floor.

Going to have to settle for the radio, can’t get any streams to work. Doesn’t sound like Wales are playing too well anyway.

The cricfree one is working sporadically. And there are a couple on the other site that have video (not full-screen) but no audio.

Anyway, Wales scored a try off the base of a scrum, but Biggar failed to convert it. 24-12.

Good score from North. Owens off the back of a maul makes yards and North picks up and crashes over.

And Wales score again!

Wales doing better since I stopped trying to watch it.

Buggeration. England are doing that thing again, where they score a load, then concede a load. Wynn Jones over now

Oof, Billy just sat down Moriarty.

Wales like a low scoring game so probably not the team to take advantage.

I’ve just remembered. Lee, from the Blood & Mud podcast, is doing the MBM for the Graun.

And just after I take the piss, he gets into the Welsh 22 on a brilliant break.

Oh my, Eliot Daly.
England have an advantage on the far side of the pitch. They go right and the ball is dropped (backwards) by Watson. He nudges the ball onto Daly, who controls with his feet, takes a few steps backwards and then his a drop goal on the spin.
33-19

England lineout inside their own half. They maul for a bit, then LCD breaks down the blindside. Youngs is in support and gets the ball to cross the line.
However, it’s a forward pass.
That’s full time. Final score 33-19

Excellent piece of provisional-number-one-ing from Wales. Lovely.

Good thing there was no rugby today.
I’m looking forward to Wales continuing their 9 year unbeaten run next week.

Hi everybody!
Thaum — great idea to set up a refuge, thanks!
Just to let you know, I’ve email everybody who ever spoke to me about the site, explaining what happened to the old blog (i.e. ‘we don’t know’…) and telling them about this one. However the full list of former posters went down with the old blog, so I only have a partial list (I don’t have yours, Thaum, for example 😀). If anyone reading this post knows of someone who may be interested, please point them to this blog and don’t assume I’ve managed to reach them…
Best wishes to you all.. congratulations to Australia and commiserations to Wales…

Good to see Shingler fit, refit, but I wouldn’t be having him in my team. He’s a bit of a gamin lad, rangy in space but a reed in the bosh stuff.

Maybe he should try Bigger Dan Biggar’s diet.

Didn’t see the rugby today. Was it a proper match or just warmup hand waving?

@Craigs – well there were some handbags after one scrum and Dave put an arm across AWJ’s throat, so I’d say the players were taking it seriously.

Hello everyone, hope you’re all keeping well.
Thanks Thaum for setting up a spot for those of us struggling with cold turkey. And thanks to the DCI for sending up the bat signal.
Fun game today. Much better than yesterday’s dreck. What was going on with Ireland’s kit?!

Really pleased to see to many familiar ‘faces’! Thanks Refit and Brookter for getting the word out. It was such a lonely experience watching yesterday’s match.
Brookter, assuming you’ve logged in with a working email address, I will send you one so we don’t lose touch again; I didn’t have yours.

Thought Heinze looked good. Ludlum was very impressive and Ewels was solid. Ford ran the game well. Daly did a good job as a winger playing out of position, as did Watson – for the love of dog, swap them over.
