Welcome AoD Refugees

Hello and welcome to a hastily-created blog to serve former followers of AoD and any other random rugby union fanatics as well.

Now that rugby season is upon us, it seemed intolerable not to have somewhere to share our pain, our hopes and our squabbles.

Please pile in BTL! There will no doubt be much tinkering with the site. Suggestions for improvements are welcome but may be discarded out of hand. We do not possess Sag-like wizardry.

    @Chimpie

AJ McGinty went off injured for the US just before HT.

Without him the US drop around 5 places in the rankings in terms of performance.

If England beat Wales away and then Ireland, no matter the scores, and even if NZ thump Australia, they’ll go number 1 in the rankings
    This is very odd

  8. I hoped England would sneak it yesterday and was surprised / pleased by the scoreline.

What was nice is that when Wales did mount a comeback we kept the scoreboard ticking over. Getting those 3 pointers was crucial.

I heard Anscombe was left on whilst injured. If so it’s appalling injury and man management.

Apparently he’s not with Glaws squad but in America for a rest, Glaws supposedly in the market for a ten, tweets about getting inspiration from friends (Christian Wade’s TD), Toronto Wolfpack alluded to.

Haven’t looked at Shedweb but it doesn’t look good.

Mad goose has been absent for about 3 weeks. I’ve been feeding one bedraggled duck for about a month, and her plumage has recovered. We are on first quack terms now, which is nice because she comes to be fed if I call her. She’s also had a female companion these last days, who is still learning the feeding ropes.

    Well, you did ask UF!

A pigeon flew into my kitchen and couldn’t get out despite the door being open. I had to walk outside to show it was the exit. It got the message eventually.

You could have cut the tension with a knife, etc.

My loan cat had fleas. Now he’s gone home but left the fleas.

I realise that’s not as feelgood as Iksy’s pond tales.

Met Craigs on the train home a few times this summer. Looked lost, bleary eyed, working his way through a 6 pack of tinnies.

Glad the blog is back to get him back on the straight and narrow. The commuters of Kent will be very pleased.

If I had a baby wren I’d have bought mealworms from the fishing shop and fed it that instead.

What time is The Larrikin naming his squad?

    Like

  24. @ourterry we did that too, snipping the mealworms in two as we’d read (on the internet, therefore true obvs) that they could eat their way out of the chick’s stomach.

There was a great moment when we didn’t quite close the lid and had to contend with a mass breakout.

Chick massively preferred the flies as it happened.

Two tightheads and three looseheads is a bit of a risk, normally you’d have it t’other way round and spend a lot of time with one of the tightheads getting him up to speed on playing the other side in an emergency

  44. Hello everyone! It’s so great to have somewhere to catch up again.

Am not unhappy with England squad. Am unhappy with having shaved off my beard last week due to kids having headlice (they apparently don’t live in beards but I got paranoid). Since I last shaved my beard I appear to have grown an extra bollock below my chin. Not a good look.

  45. Piers Francis is the pick that surprised me most. Just don’t get it, although admittedly I didn’t get to see the game properly yesterday. Think EJ has done it just to make sure that the new blog gets going with an England centres debate. Shirley we’ve all been craving those these last few months?

Anyway. We’ll look ok until Billy V breaks, and then we’ll be rubbish.
