Auld allies and auld enemies

Will Scotland benefit from playing at home? Will Ireland be able to achieve what the world’s number one team were unable to do playing at Twickenham? Answers on a postcard. Or below the line.

Saturday 24th August

  • Scotland v France 13:10 Premier Sports 2

I think we are seeing the beginning of the end of test cricket. England are not producing test batsmen anymore and without a strong English interest, India’s market for limited overs cricket will squeeze out test cricket altogether. It will either stop or become as much of an irrelevance to the sport-going public at large as the county championship.

  4. Dab that would be a tragedy. I can live with ODIs, but T20 is crap. Haven’t followed a tournament with real interest since the 1st IPL. It’s drivel, really.

By all accounts, ‘drivel’ might be a good word for England’s performance today.

Need rugby. Having to make do with Partick Thistle vs Greenock Morton. Which is almost like rugby..
Never mind, my Thistle supporting mate (and rugby-going colleague) will be pleased. Although being a Thistle fan, he’ll know not to celebrate until the final whistle.

It’s a funny old time, the comments will pick up when we are back to having league and cup rugby on a Friday night.

English Bank Holiday weekend and still the English school holidays I think so that might also be contributing.

Maybe more people should be watching Thistle against Morton!

Actually – maybe not bother with that one.

Sadly, this guy isn’t playing for Morton, with Sag doing his best Alan Rough impression in the Thistle goal…

A Friday night without rugby. Sad!!

There are two matches tomorrow but they’re awful early.

    Badly planned.

  17. Cat – I saw an article saying that tarantino should be ‘cancelled’ for film misogyny the other day.

I really hope that we are coming to the end of this ‘cancel culture’ bs. Just don’t watch if you don’t like them Ffs.

Canterbury, winners of 8 of the last 9 NZ provincial Chumpionships, have lost their first three games of the season. Tasman the early front runners.

@Thaum – can’t see much for Ulster to complain about there as they’ve got two weak teams they could finish above though I imagine Bath and Quins feel the same. You could have Sarries, Racing and Munster!

I killed the One Reborn and attempted the Upper Cathedral Ward. I’ve also done most of the nightmare frontier and opened the first mensis shortcut. I’ve also been in the chalice dungeons. Been a bit sporadic and I’m on holiday now. Reckon I can finish pretty soon but will also do the optional areas.

    The perfect margarita recipe:

First, keep your (margarita) glasses in the freezer, as well as the booze.

In shaker: one part Cointreau, three parts tequila, one part freshly-squeezed lime juice. Add ice. Shake well and serve.
