Too easy for Ireland. Nice simple passing and good depth discipline

Linespeed from Wales was exemplary. Unfortunately, “getting up” doesnt achieve much unless you actually attempt a tackle when you get there.

French officials are by far the best.
If France dont make the final, I would love to see M Garces in charge, with M. Poite and M. Raynal on the touchlines

    You’re right – they’re Brainsless.

Bradley is so far off the pace. A ghost to what he was as a young player. They’re more likely to take Hill and give him extra time, surely.

Ok, so if we pick Jarrod Evans, then Halfpenny must be the FB

If Shingler goes, its 2nd row/Back row cover only.
Tips, Moriarty and Wainwright/Navidi to start with Wainwright/Navidi on the bench.

Haven’t seen a great deal from him. Looks like a good prospect but far too raw for this level.

Raw is the word. It’s four years too early for him but such is the paucity of options…

Well, I imagine Wales will come out after half-time with another plan.

    Like

  34. yosoy's avataryosoy

Leon Brown, Ball, Tomos Williams and Patchell will all get time to play themselves on to the plane here. 3, 5, 9 and 10 have all been poor.

You can add Watkin to the ‘should be worried’ list. Shingler is a winning lottery ticket holder because he offers versatility that Cubby doesn’t.

Remarkably, Steff Evans has been one of the low error count players. I’ll probably never type that again.

Navidi aside, none of these Welsh players should be anywhere near the matchday 23 in the RWC.
Worryingly, only a few of the Irish will be anywhere near their own matchday 23

You are right. Cubby will join a long list of top quality specialist 7s (sorry Lorenzo!) who were behind an even better 7 and did not have the versatility to get picked elsewhere or bench

Watkin having a shocker. Would still take him ahead of S Williams if it is a 3 centre squad.

I feel sorry for Shingler because he was in great form before a very bad injury. 15 months out of top end rugby is hard to come back from and – if he is to ever get back to his previous level – he needs a lot of time.

    Ellis missing just exacerbates everything.

There is a big difference between the top 23 and the rest it seems, especially for Wales.

Utna – yes, I thought Wales tackling has been very poor……………..
Also, Navidi doesn’t look to be a leader or an 8 – much better left to his own devices at wing forward, I think

I agree, but without Faletau, Wales dont have an 8.
Moriarty is an abrasive ball carrying 6, and Wales’ best option to play 8. Navidi is an all rounder who can fill in at 8 better than any of the other flankers
