This is wonderful:
I voted Brexit cos we can’t make our own laws.
what laws?
‘well, freedom of information
so those rules are set by Brussels?
Yes
why are they different in England and Scotland if they are set by Brussels then?
The main reason I voted Brexit was because we can’t deport Abu Hamza cos of the European Court
That’s the ECHR, nothing to do with the EU, plus Hamza is gone – we did deport him
well yeah it took ages and we had to pay to feed him and look after him
Alright, I voted Brexit cos my father and other family fought in the war to stop us being taken over by a foreign power
But we have just established that we’re not being taken over by a foreign power mate
I’ve made up my mind and I’m never gonna change my mind no matter what.

Bit of a collapse by Russia towards the end. they are a committed but somewhat limited team.
Samoa looked pretty honking for a lot of that match. Really should not have been playing with 15 by the end.

@Chimpie
Had Russia not been knackered from playing 3 days ago and had Romain ‘Clancey’ Poite applied the high tackle law competently I reckon Russia could have beaten Samoa.

Didn’t catch the rugby today — was too busy watching the Final of Liars v The Rule of Law.
Is it worth watching on catchup?

Remember the good old days, when we had only slightly compromised world leaders.
Like George Bush, Gordon Brown, Nicholas Sarkozy. Those were the good old days.

Good thing DBWR got that memo out to Poite in time.

Chimpie – if you ever look through your video collection and can’t find your sex tape, you haven’t returned it accidentally. Cat is watching it with his best mate ‘Sick Boy’.

So take away from today was that unless the ball carrier is standing perfectly upright it’s completely fine (well YC only) to shoulder them in the face with a 20m run up ).
World Rugby/the refs really don’t help themselves on the whole player welfare thing do they?
On the bright side, when Faz gets red carded in the QF it ensures we’ll be the moral victors of the world cup

@Brookter, extended highlights should suffice.

Nah. Leave that sort of behaviour to the Welsh.

Oh dear, gutted for Ali Price. And Scotland. Guess they have to live with WeeGreig putting his hands on the ball and doing a mirror/signal three times before maneuvering.

That’s not such a disaster for Scotland. Wee Greig has his merits.

Yes however we now have Pyrgos as a back up.

Just reading that after each Japan test their management award an opposition player of the match award. The prize is a ceremonial samurai sword. Which Scots player would be the least sensible to give that to? My initial thought is Ryan Wilson.

If the answer is Roman Poite, the question is wrong. A wringer question gives you the answer Jerome Garces.

It isn’t grandfatherly love you bounder, it’s more human being admiration for such a top, top fellow human being. Someone who puts her views across as clear as a bell in a second language in some very intimidating situations.

Just watching the Rus/Sam game. First card – that’s cobblers. Poite didn’t seem to go through the steps for judging (like Luke Pearce does).

And the 2nd is also a poor decision.
I normally like Poite, even with his fastidious rule-sticking. Not sure what happened in this match.

Weirdly enough in the fall-back bar opposite R.Tufty’s tonight a regular I’ve known for 20 years spouted out that Greta was sick. I was on him like a ton of bricks demanding why he said that.
He’s an American / German and not a bad lad generally. He was a bit pissed (you can tell because he speaks about 3 decibels louder than normal and fellow regulars call him ‘liftoff’ when the booze kicks in).
We agreed to come to the topic in more sober and less emotional circumstances. Small world though.

I should probably say that one of the reasons it has taken me so long to finish bloodborne is because it isn’t really the normal gaming experience.
Normally you would fight your way to a boss through gradually increasing difficulty with logical power ups or gun upgrades. It would take a few goes to kill them and everytime you die you wake in front of them. You’d kill them and say ‘woohoo I killed bazooka man’.
Well bloodborne isn’t like that. It’s full of fucked up traps and surprises. The difficulty level is basically a wall and there’s only one setting. One minute you are happily slicing through peasants, the next you have been pushed into a poisonous pond by a spider with a human head, whilst fighting squids with trolls throwing rocks at you.
Nothing makes sense. There are no instructions apart from cryptic notes hanging around. Most of the game is optional and doesn’t impact the ‘story’.
Also, the bosses can take 15 minutes to die, and it could take an hour and half to work out how to hurt them in the first place. Rather than waking up where you die, you have to cross half the level to get to the Bastards. And they are horrific too. The one I just killed rips his arms off (he has 2 pairs) and attacks you with them. When you win you just let out a deep breath and move on.
I can only do this in short bursts. And I need advice most of the time. That’s why Cat and me bore you with our long conversations.
Then when I least expect I get a tug from a corner of my brain and I need to play again.
It’s in my top 5 favourite games as well. All the bullshit makes it really, really good. I recommend it to anyone who likes a challenging game but don’t buy it for your sanity.

Iks, we really need a blog meet in R.Tufty. Bar. Can you arrange sleepovers ? If we make it home to yours ? Bed or bars, or Iks hostel, sounds like the perfect night out once in a decade.
Greta on the money, loved the sailboat to NY thing, trouble is, she will be overwhelmed by dicks in green stripey trousers that want to lead the saving the planet brigades while flying off to interesting hot third world climates, to sympathise with the repressed, take drugs, drink odd alcohols, screw idealist young women, and then fuck off back to their law degree at Oxford.
Go Los TEROS.

The standard right wing takedown of Greta is that she is a stupid stroppy kid being manipulated by a shadowy cabal of ‘globalists’ ultimately paid for by Soros and those who apparently stand to profit from us all using less fossil fuels.
They also have a meme in which she is compared to blond Aryan girls in Nazi propaganda posters. Yes, they are comparing her to Nazis.
I’ve even seen mad christers wondering if she is the antichrist.
