  10. A period of absolute madness, after the gong has gone, results in the USA breaking down field. England get the ball back, then get turned over before Campbell flops over the line to score.

    Final score 45-7.

Landed badly trying to take a high ball. And looked in a terrible state as he was being attended to before the camera moved away.

Ticht, not sure where he’ll spend most of his time playing for us. Sharing the 13 shirt with Luke Marshall and the 15 with Will Addison, most likely. We’ve a boat load of wingers.

On the rare occasions we had the ball we actually looked like we could do something with it, but England starved us of possession and territory. With the amount of both they enjoyed I am actually relieved the score was not much higher.

A few harsh decisions went against us. I thought the tackle on Hooley from the opening kick off was a clear shoulder to his head area and should have been a yellow.

Stupid from Quill. Only mitigation is that he possibly switched off attempting the tackle when Farrell fumbled and then stuck out a shoulder when Farrell ran into him. At least Farrell now knows 100% what a no arms shoulder charge looks and feels like.

Looks like Quill will be banned for remainder of the USA involvement. Ainu’u and Hooley look crocked. Lamositele was limping and Brache was clutching his hamstring. This is all shit.

Germishuys looked lively at the end and can replace Quill.

Te’o (the tubby FB with the pony tail) was really good, I thought. Made yards in contact and made USA’s only real clean break of the match. Him in at 15 to replace injured Hooley gives us more speed and X factor there.

Campbell, the try scorer, could do with more involvement too.

I have just as much involvement and relevance to the US team as you do to England.

Just being born inside invisible lines on the surface of the earth isn’t a big thing for me. In fact it’s been an embarrassing inconvenience since midsummer 2016.

I thought that players such as Cole, Marler, the Launch and Kruis, supported by Curry, Ludlum really crushed any threat from the USA during the 1st half.
As the game evolved I though England’s passing became poor, even allowing for the slippery conditions. Most of the spills were the result of poor passing rather than poor catching.
Ford is a bully in these types of match-ups.
JJ was good and Farrell injected energy into the squad when he came on.
Lawes looked crocked even as he came on to replace the Launch and big Joe did pretty well, receiving a lot of poor quality passes.
Daly has dropped down the list and looks like he knows it. Can he tough it out and get his head back up? That’s what squad tours are all about.

p.s. well done to USA for toughing it out…………..lousy experience for them. Hope the injured guy is ok and the guy who got the red card realises what he has done to himself and the squad for the rest of the Tourni.

I’m debating whether or not I can say “we” about the USA, seeing as Mrs Cat is Half ‘Merican and FEFH holds a US passport.

Course, if Brazil had qualified I’d definitely be saying We. Cos Mrs Cat and FEFH also holds a Brazilian passport.

But Papaya Pol Pot is souring the whole thing for me.

Dova, not a bad showing. Red card deserved. Francis may well be cited for borderline high tackle from initial kick off. Lots of early penalties, a fair amount of dropped balls, but looked organised both in defence and attack.
Daly squandered two clear try scoring opportunities by not passing to an open winger who would have walked in, Machonnachie didn’t do much, Joseph and Watson looked really sharp, Ludlam put in a really good shift, everyone else acquitted themselves well.
And Genge, been training with the back, lovely blindside break from a maul, nice little in out on the defence, followed by two bulldozing tackle busts. 40m run. Superb.

@Craigs. I have one. Going to be 2 when Hypocrite father of Cat gets his Irish one back. FEFH has 3 currently, going to be 4 when hypocrite father of Cat gets his Irish one back. Mrs. Cat has 3- although I do need to check if her Brazilian one hasn’t expired.

I’m pretty certain US citizens aren’t meant to be able to do that, but nobody really checked.

Craigs, as far as US is concerned, multiple passports is fine, if you have a US one, that is all that counts, and you are liable for tax in US on income earned anywhere.

You are, in theory, liable for tax no matter where you earn it. But we’ve asked around ‘merican expat facebooks and nobody has ever heard of them actually coming for it.
