Looks to me like France trying to drive diagonally in the scrums, just like they always do, the cheating salauds.

    Very handy lead, that.

Can’t agree with that. Was high, sure, under the new criteria, but not much in it and wasn’t dangerous.
If ref and tjs missed it, there was no need for the tmo to get involved and take play back.

Ntamack kicking very well. A good half for France. If Penaud had taken that last ball, it could’ve been even better.

Utna, these seatbelt tackles are an easy decision because they are obvious, I don’t mind them getting pinged, what I find ridiculous is that properly dangerous tackles are still being ignored. There was one yesterday and I read elsewhere that there was one on Yato earlier, I haven’t watched my recording of that match yet

Absolutely dont mind them getting pinged. Correct decision. But I just dont think it merits the TMO getting involved if the on field officials miss one.
As you say, there are worse tackles where the TMO does nothing (eg Yato in the earlier game)

Cheers refit, I’m told Yato failed the HIA too, so much for the player safety first bollocks

I’ll have to check but I think Argentina have won only 1 of their previous 8 opening World Cup pool games.

There was a French player taken out way beyond the breakdown at the beginning of that move, if it wasn’t a ruck then he was tackled without the ball

I think they were far too flat, FFB. Even a long ball over the top would’ve been enough but the winger was only a metre or so back.

Penaud infringement was ridiculous – and there were two more advantages in the passage. No yellow…

If Brunel pulls this off with Ramos, Dupont and Ntamack on the park, it’ll be great for them. If not, he’s been a bit too optimistic.

They’re all good players but just not sure if they’re gnarled enough to pull this out for France. Having said that, Cami Lopez is the replacement outside half so that’s not a particularly hard-headed sub to make.
