Re-Blackface.
In my entire life I have been to plenty of fancy dress parties, and I have never seen anyone in Blackface. I have never once been tempted to do it, and I can’t imagine why you would do it. Yet countless political mediocrities on both sides of the pond seem to have decided to- regardless of political leaning. It’s the weirdest fucking thing. It’s so obviously racist- even father of cat conceded that Trudeau’s second Blackface incident was unquestionably racist.
A friend of mine thinks we should have a months amnesty where they can all publish all their pictures from high school or whatever with no repercussions. I think that’s letting them off the hook, myself.

There was one that I almost liked on here because it had plenty of good stuff about the USA’s performance in it and Pro is of course a good read on the USA. Didn’t because there was a wee bit of ‘Farrell getting his own medicine” to it that I couldn’t be doing with.
Loads of them liked it on the Graun, but I think they may have different priorities.

It was at school, there was a harvest festival in the local church. I was probably five years old and my mum made up this gunge from cold cream and hot chocolate powder and smeared me with it. I can still smell it, it was awful.
I was playing the “African kid” or something, but later I did wonder about why I was chosen as I had the blondest hair as a bairn, talk about a half pint of Guinness.

@craigs. I’d be surprised. She’s a fucking bitch. There’s two things to watch out for- the aforementioned charge- it’s so difficult to avoid, and it is a one hit kill, and more importantly the trailing tentacle when she swipes. You can, and should, easily dodge the first one, but the second ALWAYS hits you.

@BB – he was president of his local association. Probably more of a flair for admin than most of the actual farmers. I was on the door on handshaking duties at his funeral and an old man missing a leg was wheeled up and just said “Blackfaced sheep breeders” and nothing else to me as he went into the church. Apparently he was the previous president. It had a kind of mafia feel about it.

Nah, we had dikes to keep them penned, or they were on the hill. Hardy wee buggers, the ones dad herded were basically outside all year. I remember a college lecturer being amazed when I said they were lambed outside. She was so sure that all lambs were born indoors, she almost had me believing her! Out before 5 in the morning and back after 10 at night for about 6 weeks during lambing season – no wonder he almost wasted away to nothing. Yet he wouldn’t have swapped that for anything – you’ll have seen similar with the folk you worked with, both here and in France.

Even then. I’d still recommend Old Hunters over it. It’s even better than the base game. It’s also pretty big too- 5 bosses, (Ludwig the cheating horse fucker, Laurence the flaming shitehawk, Lady Maria (love her), The Living Failures, and the Orphan of Kos). It’s more explicitly a dream, so you get a twist on areas you know. It’s pretty much all new monsters- including Cthulubros and Sharkbros, and it’s got the best adaptation of Lovecraft to ever make it to the screen (Shadow over Innismuth becomes the Fishing Village).
It’s brilliant. The bar was high with the base game, but they topped it.
Just discovered Yharnam was based on Prague.

There’s a great catch she took at about second slip off a reverse sweep. When I’m keeping I sometimes think about heading to leg slip when our slowest bowlers are chucking filth down the legside. Trouble is I’d be trying to stop full-blooded pull shots rather than paddle sweeps. Sometimes the batsman will turn round and play a pull shot straight at the keeper anyway which is a little unsettling.
