Brave Blossoms in DOMINATION Shocker

Week Two made Irish eyes very sad. But Welsh eyes leeked with joy, when the Wallabies didn’t quite manage to hop into the lead in the second half. Uruguay failed to repeat their magic from Week One. Otherwise, the results were more or less as expected.

Week Three’s biggest clash is looking like England v Argentina, although no doubt there will be some surprises in the other fixtures.

We’ve also got some Pro14 and that English Premiership Cup thingy to look forward to.

  2. Strong scrum and wheel by Argentina sees Argentine 9 go close, but try rules out for interference with the defence. Yip. Flank not allowing his opposite to break from the scrum in defence.

  4. Someone just bounced the USA 9, that was glorious.

Oh USA…a golden opportunity but the pass from McGinty goes to ground.

  5. USA blow a great chance! Superb counterruck and turnover, sweep down the blindside, recycle and have numbers to the left but the last pass is too late and to no-one. Argentina clear.

  6. That was really good by Scully, getting fingertips to the ball ahead of the Pumas player.

  7. Garryowen by the USA bounces outside the Argentina 22 and a lovely mazy run from the centre almost gets them away bar a hand getting in the way of the final pass! Both sides giving it a fling and now Argentina score! Another lovely break in midfield from a great delayed pass to put the man through the gap and Sanchez is on hand to finish it off in the corner!

  8. Mallia glides through a gap in the USA defence, then offloads to Sanchez and it’s foot race between him and Te’o for the corner. The USA defender gets the tackle in, just before the line, but can’t prevent the Pumas 10 from twisting and getting the ball down.

Was Scully the one whose name used to auto-correct to average foreign journeyman?

It was a bit cruel, but funny

  10. A chip into the USA 22 and the bounce does for Te’o, going the wrong way from him behind the try line. Tucolet is there though and scores the second.

    14-0

  11. @Ticht – I don’t think it was an auto-correct. I think it was a term created for Sexton, when he went to France.

  12. Argentina cranking it up a bit now. A penalty to the 22 and off the top number 8 Ezcurra gets over the advantage line. Chip into the gap, cruel bounce and Tuculet pounces. 14-0

  13. Refit – Sag did have an autocorrect name for Scully when Peak Pro Jizzing of him was a daily thing. Can’t remember what it was though!

Refit, there was definitely an American player whose name Sag has programmed to auto correct to something, I can’t remember what the auto correct was now

  15. Good hands from Argentina, but penalised for sealing off at the ruck. May have been a penalty in the build up for a slap down but ref let it go. USA go wide but Delguy flies up out of the line and forces an attempted slap pass which goes forward. Argentina get another scrum penalty.

The Edinburgh forum has every swear word set to autocorrect to a referee’s name

    Joke refereeing.

Creevy in from the side at a maul 1m from the US line and pulls the maul down and out into touch.

Then Argentina take the ball back into their 22 and kick it out, but get the lineout where it goes out.

Unfortunately the likes of Ireland would abuse the new JD2 law by deliberately throwing it into touch to get the lineout rather than giving it to Keith Earls to have a run.

whoever is in charge of coaching the US lineout needs a good slap.

    Our attack seems to be

    1. Give to to Lasike
    2. Props hit it up off quick ball
    3. Go wide and either drop it or chip kick it to the opposition strike runners

The all out blitz defence leaves us vulnerable to the inside ball and ball that is quickly moved wide. We also keep leaving props marking opposition centres.

    We missed 45 tackles, FFS.

Lots of media outlets making a big deal of the dodgy free kick awarded to Japan at the end of their Samoa game and how it impacts on Scotland, I’m more concerned about us not getting a single point against Ireland.

Still, it’s in our own hands for the time being

  42. @TomP – you’ll like this article. Two of South Africa’s richest men are teaming up to make the Bulls into the Man U of SA rugby. For those who don’t know, Johann Rupert has made a fortune in tobacco (now divested, I think) and luxury goods (his Richemont Group owns Cartier, Dunhill, Montblanc, Van Cleef & Arpels and a whole lot more), whilst Patrice Motsepe is President Ramaphosa’s brother-in-law. but made his fortune in mining (gold, platinum and others) well before Cyril became the Pres.

Hopefully they’ll start a scramble for the other big unions and slow the player drain to Europe and Japan. Or force the fuckers to pay obscene amounts for top players and emerging talent alike.
