White orcs and black orcs and green orcs and the daffodils

Heartbroken by Ireland’s tragic crash-out last week, I forgot about putting up a new post yesterday. So this is a rushed affair.

Agree with your comment on Itoje Dab. The entire team seemed totally focussed.

I have to take my hat off to Eddie Jones also. The WC isn’t won yet, but if England play like that in the final, I can’t see either Wales or SA, or anyone for that matter, living with them. And the bastard of it is, they’re still a young team.

One problem moving forward is that I had to sign a whole bunch of deals with Satan to win the SF. I guess that stuff will catch up with me/England.

Did Embra score another try at the death? Their feed gave the score as 41-7 when they announced the MOTM, but the final score came up as 46-7.

As I no longer watch rugby, I will be talking about this game for years to come, so: It seems incredible that, for all England’s domination, they only scored one try. Although, Ben Youngs deserved his on principle.

Puts in perspective how bloody awful we were last Saturday…. in fact maybe we were terrible much more than NZ being good…

England played a very good game today, putting almost relentless pressure on New Zealand. I don’t think that means Ireland were more dire1, Ireland had the similar problems when they couldn’t execute as New Zealand did. Both NZ and England were able to maintain a high pressure defense for most of their respective wins. South Africa was successful doing the same thing against Japan. (Although that one was more a mismatch.)

I’m curious whether that will be a new coaching tactic adopted by Tier 1 teams after the RWC is over.

1 It didn’t help Ireland that Sexton appeared to have forgotten how to kick.
