Big Cup and Pish Cup Get Underway

Now that all that distractive World Cup nonsense is out of the way, we can all concentrate on rugby that really matters*: the Big Cup and the Pish Cup.

*Until your team falls out of it, then it’s the league, obviously.

EnzoM has summarised each Big Cup team’s chances nicely, except for one small error, later corrected to read ‘Ulster by 50’.

    Flair,
Didn’t Lyon finish last year quite high in the table?

LAODAB, yes they finished 3rd behind Toulouse and ASM. But they lost all their games in the Hcup. Can’t remember if they lost in the QFor SF in the T14 playoff.
They play one of the dullest rugby in France, on par with Castres or the relegated teams.
As you can guess, the sooner they’re out, the better.

LAODAB, if you like rugby you just can’t support Lyon.
I suggest ASM or Toulouse. Or Sarries, if you enjoy lost causes.

There are other options available that would fit the bill.

Going to a match really makes it difficult to watch the rest of the games.

Currently on a train. Heading to Cardiff airport. Missed almost all the rugby. Awesome result for Exeter.

What a match to have gone to, Larry! Although next week’s will be equally tense, I should think (hope). We will be in, erm, Cardiff (not Clermont!) but at least Ulster are on Friday, so we should be able to watch that.

Sarries are pretty woeful; don’t think they’ve won their own line-out yet.

Only question is whether Racing’ll get the bonus point or not. Some good efforts by Saracens, Ben Earl in particular, but their seconds aren’t in a battle here.
