“Will Greenwood’s picked his Lions XV if they were playing tomorrow

    – 15 Stuart Hogg, 14 Johnny May, 13 Manu Tuilagi, 12 Robbie Henshaw, 11 Liam Williams, 10 Owen Farrell, 9 Tomos Williams, 8 Billy Vunipola, 7 Justin Tipuric, 6 Tom Curry, 5 James Ryan, 4 Maro Itoje, 3 Kyle Sinckler, 2 Jamie George, 1 Rory Sutherland.”

It’s probably not too far off going by what we saw in the 6N.
I’m yet to be convinced by Sinckler, Furlong may have been off his very best, but I’d probably still go with him.

We’re still a year away and obviously a lot can happen in that time. There are two players with terrible injury histories in that side, it will be fortuitous if both Tuilagi and Vunipola are both fit and firing, I think Billy is the one less likely to be in the side of the two.

    What’s that? A Scottish bolter?

I’ve got my money on Duhan McMerwe for the test side, McInally and Ritchie to make the squad.

Hmmm. School pupils to return in August without social distancing between them (they don’t do that anyway). But staff have to socially distance themselves from each other and the pupils (still 2 metres at the moment).

Wonder if I can convince the kids that the library less than two metres long, therefore none of them can come in?

Would be tempted to put Tuilagi at 12 as he seems perfectly good there and seems to be more options at OC. than IC.

Depends how good you think Henshaw is.

I like Tuilagi and he brings his own brand of muscularity to the game but I’d rather have Ringrose or Foxy at 13.

Please feel free to complete my daughter’s survey

Are you over 18? Do you want to help improve OCD diagnosis and be in with a chance of winning £25?

I am a psychology masters student at the University of Sussex. For my dissertation I have devised a new OCD questionnaire and it would be really helpful if you wouldn’t mind completing it! You’re welcome to take part whether or not you have ever had a mental health issue (you are not asked to provide this information) and it should take less than half an hour of your time. (Link below). Thank you in advance for you time 🙂

A three-month NZR review concluded the five existing Kiwi franchises should form the core

I can hardly believe that the NZers would demand that.

  35. Looks almost certain that SA and Argentina are getting ditched. Will be interesting to see how much SuperSport is prepared to pay to show the Crusaders winning every match and whatever Aussie sides there are losing every match (even against each other). I’d imagine the bulk of their cash will go to securing rights to whichever tournament our sides play in.

Isn’t this just forcing what was mooted (for SA) anyway – ever since Kings and Cheetahs came north it’s been rumbling away ….

    Like

  39. I think they were paid to show Saracens and Exeter.

Trisk – there’s been rumours for years, but nothing’s ever happened. However, with the current format a shambles and fans really not keen on it anymore, I suppose it’s a bit inevitable. It’ll be interesting to see how it all pans out: Australian rugby is in a death spiral (as FD helpfully pointed out for years) and can’t afford much at all, let alone Izzy’s payout, whilst both NZR and the ARU have had bailouts in recent years. SARU is hardly in great financial shape either, but given that SA accounted for around 50% of Sanzaar income, but got only around 38% of the revenue (from pre-Argentina figures – probably even less now), we were bailing the others out, especially Australia.

I’d love to see a revitalised Currie Cup, with the savings from travel and the extra income from TV rights going to some of the smaller unions to give us 10 strong sides. Probably won’t happen and if we survive Covid, we probably won’t have any money anyway.

Not sure if you have seen this but it seems like PHE have been supplying bollox stats on deaths from Covid-19 since the beginning. Anyone who gets a positive covid-19 test at any time and then dies at any time of any cause (say, hit by a bus) is recorded as a covid death. So you can never ever recover from Covid. It probable explains why they haven’t been publishing recovery rates, because nobody ever recovers according to them.
