Got distracted by being off this week on account of the happy occasion of getting a new dug.

But in case you missed it, you can read ClydeMillarWynant’s excellent Real Cricket Match Report here.

Lovely dug, Thaum.

Cheers, BB! She’s adorable, but scared of everything, including her own food. So I must remember not to get excited while watching….

Nice looking dug. Unless she’s really living it up for a dug then I suspect I’d be quite scared of her food too.
And you’re too kind by the way.

Gorgeous dug! Looks very relaxed and contented.

Weedge match postponed? Thought it would be crawling with partisan Scots on here.

Not to worry. Found it. 3-7 Glasgow ahead.

Nope, still playing. Glasgow up 7-3, but Huw Jones in the sin bin. Zander doing a bit of a job on Schoey it seems.
(This is all from following it on the BBC – not watching it).

Lot of errors so far, quite a few penalties. Edinburgh had a good bash at the line a bit earlier and coughed up a penalty. Now they concede one trying to get out of their own half. Not for the first time, Glasgow cock up the lineout and Edinburgh have the scrum. McSchoeman seems to be struggling to the 9s eye.

Thanks BB – was going to ask who he was up against. Definitely getting a bit stuffed. Free kick Weege for early engagement and they set another scrum. Big from Glasgow on both sides! Penalty.

Lineout on the Edinburgh 22. No problem this time. Through the phases, advantage and are they over under the posts? Looks short. Can’t see. Yip. Back for the penalty. Tap and go!

Hammering away, excellent defence, but have they got it over? Or was it lost? As usual, they show the angle that’s blind first. Knocked on! Scrum Edinburgh on half time. A couple of resets now and somehow Edinburgh get a penalty. HT.

Clyde – well, she’s getting some of my leftovers, but that’s not good enough either. Managed to get her to eat yesterday by holding up the bowl under her nose, butler-style (would madam like some chicken paprika with fusilli?), but that didn’t work today; she was too scared of it. She will eat it if I put her and it in her crate and bugger off somewhere, either to bed or out.
And also – I have zero interest in cricket, know nothing about the game, but your account was most amusing!

@Thaum – I’m more than a wee bit jealous though I know a dog is impossible for the foreseeable. I still go all soppy when I think about the one we had when I was a teenager. I’m sure she’ll bring you a lot of happiness.

Glaes 14 obviously wants to show off his slender, gazelle-like legs by wearing ankle socks.
Hope there are no Lions around.

Clyde – I’ve waited four long years or so. As soon as they said we’d never have to go back to the office, I was on the list!

Well! Edinburgh told to use it and they pissed around, so scrum Glasgow. And resets. Not sure what Ticht thinks, but Edinburgh must be flirting with a card.
Glasgow get it out and make good yards. Eventually into touch deep inside the Edinburgh 22. Ollie Kebble getting more treatment.
Edinburgh win the lineout and a maul penalty. Lineout on their 10m line.

Box kick charged down but unluckily for Glasgow straight into touch. Their throw, going through the phases but into touch.

Chimpie – I like a good tautology:
Never seen that video before; it’s quite amusing.

Turnover Edin midfield! Through the hands, but a grubber gives the ball back to Glasgow and they clear downfield. Edinburgh charge back and will a penalty in kicking range! They go for touch and it’s decent enough, 8m from the line.

They win the lineout but get a bit frantic through the lhases, cough the penalty which Glasgow take quickly and flood downfield. Gets bogged down, but suddenly Glasgow’s hooker breaks through, some good hands and awareness and they’re over in the corner! 3-12 with 20 to go!

Conversion short and wide, a bit like my uncle, but with more effort. 12 it stays.

Edinburgh have been pretty toothless in attack thus far and now lose an attacking lineout before coughing the penalty at the breakdown. Attacking linout Glasgow about 10 from the 22. Penalty advantage for collapsing the maul. No advantage. Glasgow with a shot at goal from the 15m line and about 30m out.

Glasgow don’t deal with the kickoff and Edinburgh burst into the 22, only to turn it over. Glasgow knock on, so scrum Edinburgh. Advantage – scrum way better now with the replacements on. Kick to the corner and lineout.

Knock on at the lineout. 3rd time they’ve stuffed a great attacking platform like that. Scrum goes down again. And again. WP Nel smiling at his opponent. Edinburgh get the shove on and win the penalty!

Line out also a shitshow

Fuck up the lieout again, Glasgow initially go wide, try to clear and cough it up for Edinburgh to run back at them. Struggling to get over the 22. Glasgow turn it over, hoof it downfield and Edinburgh knock it on. Scrum Glasgow in the Edinburgh 22 and game over with 4 minutes left.

I haven’t really got back up to speed with matters Pro14 at all. Does this game matter in terms of what happens next?

Nope. Embra already with home semi. Glasgow already out.

Scrum reset? Why not! Glasgow pushing hard but cough up the ball and Edinburgh clear upfield. Interference in the air and they have the penalty. Lineout just inside the Glasgow half. Lose it! Again! Last minute and Glasgow kick, rather than maul. Darcy Graham gets clattered off the ball, but actually nothing in it. Glasgow lineout to finish the match. And that’s it!

Glasgow definitely deserved the win. Edinburgh looked out of sorts and off the pace.

If it was up to me I’d have plenty of Scots in the Lions side: Nel, Kebble, Van der Walt, Duhan van der Merwe to name a few.
