Covid: ALL YOUR FIXTURES ARE BELONG TO US

Saner parts of the world, such as Australia, New Zealand and South Africa (and I never thought I’d write that) are managing to go ahead with their matches, but in the Pro-14, non-cancelled matches scheduled for today are rarer than gracious election concessions by Donald Trump.

There are a couple of not-cancelled Top 14 matches that don’t appear to be available for your viewing pleasure in the UK, and the Sunday and Monday (boo, hiss) Pro-14 matches are so far still on. The English Premiership appears to be having a wee rest.

Maybe it’s just a plot to make us all savour the prospect of Friday’s Ireland v Wales supershowdown. Supposing it doesn’t get cancelled.

Well at least we’ve got to penalties. We have a 100% record in penalty shootouts.

You missed the best of the game from our point of view Ticht. For 89 and a half minutes we pretty much dominated a side ranked much higher than us at their home.

At least we’ve now reclaimed our rightful place at a finals tournament. Wonder how we’ll fail to qualify from the group this time…..

The pundits were saying that, BB, that we were the better side by far.

I just can’t bring myself to watch the Scottish football team, I’ve enough heartache to deal with watching Edinburgh and Scotland rugby, and even Glasgow these days.

Anyway, I cricked my neck today replacing the kitchen tap, working under the sink with hunner of plumbing in the way isn’t exactly helped by the fact the Water Board’s main stop cock doesn’t actually stop the water running and the stop cocks under the sink have seized up due to hard water.

Oh and the old tap has pipes soldered into the bottom of it, rather than fixings.

    Bastard of a job.

Sorry to hear that Ticht. I know covid buggered things up, but are you still intending to move back up here at some point in the future?

Yeah that’s still the plan BB, maybe in a couple of years, the nippers need a base close to that London right now

  13. Morning all! Congrats to Scotland, a fine performance by all accounts! Realised that I never congratulated TomP on the Bulls winning in Joburg last week – a well deserved victory, but at least we put up a better performance than the Stormers.

Leaving aside the scurrilous ‘badly cooked’ slur, this is hardly a national dish.

You may need to dig CJ up from the grave to answer surveying questions. Alternatively Lara as an architect might give you a steer, or Boa if your query is knitting-related.

Craigs, my dear departed dad was a FRICS. I think according to him, a surveyor caught lying should be struck off before hanging, drawing and quartering. Hope that helps.

  34. Sbt – it does actually. There’s a small section of my roof which hasn’t been lined. The area to the left and above has been lined with the batons going over the new lining. I asked about this and the surveyor said that the tiles hadn’t been taken off. I asked how the lining got there and she just repeated herself and ignored me.

My builder reckons that the firm who re did the roof just ran out of lining and it will be around £500 to sort. Not a biggy in the grand scheme of things but I hate being lied to.

There’s also a nice dent in the wooden door of my garage. When I asked her and the builders about it they denied all knowledge. It’s exactly the right height for the trucks they use. They also dropped a load of paint on my driveway.

So I’m onna warpath. I’ve gone full Sag.

As the game vs Fiji has been called off, we might still see France’s strongest team vs Scotland as the players have been released to their clubs, therefore not reaching the 3 games limit set by the FFR/LNR agreement.
In any case, that B team are no pushovers, and it’s a pretty interesting mix of a couple of old horses like Atonio and many very young players, among which ex WC U20s , like Barassi or Zegueur.
I’m glad to see players like Macalou, Jalibert, Woki back in the fray. One could argue that Raka and Thomas are better wings than Ratez and Fickou.

    My picks:
    Ireland by 10
    Scotland by 24
    England by 35
I also had France by 12 but we’ll never know and it’s a shame as it looked like it could be quite entertaining.
    What about yours?
Don’t forget to write them down in the Superbru thing.

Flair, I was thinking the same thing, pretty handy second team, from my limited viewpoint. Serin would probably walk into any other 6Nations side, and the backs looked handy. French forwards always there or there abouts too.
Wales by 6 if Sheedy gets on early.
    Scotland by 16.
England by 18, unless Robson gets on early, in which case much more.
