I read about that vandalism of the memorial a few days ago, ticht. It was fascist graffiti celebrating Franco, which is surprising to hear of in Scotland in 2021.

Dad’s description of himself sounds pretty accurate.

Wales are in Argentina? Possible I suppose.

Tomp, my mistake. You’re right, Macalou could’ve been pinged when he turned over the last ball. Very fine margins, indeed.
The French squad has only 41 players, some flanker from ASM (Fisher?) lost his passport on a stop over in Dubai. Wasn’t replaced.

I think that officially we are the away team in these tests.

football team. Something similar happened to the goalkeeper Danny Ward a few years back and before that the manager couldn’t find his passport before a trip to a qualifying game.

Anyway, I wouldn’t read too much into the games in Australia. Sure, some of France reserves are really good (Danty, Vincent, Woki, Jelonch, Gros, Bamba, the very young Diallo, Azagoh and Cazeaux, even Barlot. Jaminet who has yet to play a single minute of T14 is a great find, etc..) but… Australia aren’t what they used to be, they miss lots of excellent players who make their money in Europe. Their game plan is basically give it to Koroboite. Few good ball carriers, a weak scrum, no poachers besides Hooper. I hope they soon improve or rugby will be fading there.

  9. AWJ back in the loop. Massive psychological boost for the Lions. They’ll stroll it by 25 points tonight. Morne Steyn to score the Boks only try by forgetting to kick it and completely confusing the defence in the process. #YHIHF.

Deebee, underdogging is below both you and the world champs.
I fully expect the Boks “A” to win tonight.
Great news for AWJ though. Great player, great captain.

I’m not so sure that they’ll win the game, flair, but don’t think they have much to lose. So a loss is no problem, it’s just a hit out. A win, though, will cause some problems for the Lions. Am really looking forward to it.

  13. Sorry Flair, been on NH sites too long. Fully expect us to deal with the Lions like canned hunting on a small holding. The crowd will be worth an additional 15 points too.

  14. Hanyani Shimange says we need to take them to the edge. John Smit says a lot without saying anything. Probably why hookers don’t do the lineout calls.

  15. Breyton Paulse making sense. Really should have switched from the wing to 9.

  16. Smit making the point that the Lions pack hasn’t been very physical thus far. Is this what Gats is hiding? Or will it lead to the Lions getting a hiding?

  17. Conditions steady underfoot but damp according to Jean de Villiers. Expecting some difficult conditions, but a good contest.

Pictures of Farrell doing kicking practice. Arm is swinging wildly as usual.

TomP – thanks for that Cooney article. It’s a mystery to everyone what the actual fuck he has to do, and the only explanation I’ve read so far (here) is that Sexton doesn’t like him.

  24. Decent start by the Bok XV. Can they keep it up over 80 minutes? Real question given the lack of proper game time recently. 3-0 with Steyn’s penalty.

  31. Weird passage of play. Boks got a penalty and chipped it just outside their own 22. Dweba baulks the throw, Lions run it and Farrell gets his kick charged down by Etzebeth, for De Allende to pick it up and put Nkosi away for the try. 10-0.
