… because the Pro-Woo United Rugby Championship starts tonight! As per fucking usual, Ulster and Cardiff are scheduled to kick off at the same time, forcing a dual Premier Sports purchase. Bastards.
There is a plethora of other matches as well, so without further ado, let’s have a look at the fixtures.
Actually, i get a season ticket to Thomond as I’m a a “mover and shaker”* in the Munster Branch
* not really – I ended up as chair of a sub-cttee because it was my county’s turn and I was longest standing delegate (previous two – who had been there for age both resigned in past year). I only took it as there was no-one else – it would have gone to Limerick – and we try to look as if we’re “outward-looking/progressive”, and not involved with parochial disputes with our neighbours or other football codes.
It’s not the quickest trip to Limerick – so I doubt I’ll be at that many games – probably won’t be home before midnight on Sat night but it’s a nice perk but not so fantastic that I’d be wanting to stay beyond my official term (or even complete it).
Option to buy – emphasise buy – international tickets is the big one – I can now see why so many seem tp
on hang on in committees etc long after they’ve anything to offer (or move from ctte to ctte)
eldest is playing again on Sat lunchtime- might get a chance to see a bit of it (running a session for U14s as well) – but less busy than last weekend. Next weekend , we’re all out again.
I actually come back from training sessions quite energised and cheerful. I’ve only been at this a few years now – but I can see why people get drawn in and then spend hours of their lives with on sport or another – it’s quite addictive – you miss the buzz quite quickly
If I am reading this right, Trisk is offering a season ticket for most games if anyone is in the area, cos he can’t get there often. Not far for TomP , straight down the motorway to Limerick.
Trisk, never had the opportunity (read skill in there) to coach any sport, but whatever thril you get our of it, the rest of us applaud as you bring through new generations of players and fans.

Trisk, stick to the kids rugger unless you get a perverse pleasure from watching Saffer sides getting sliced and diced.

Any significant rugby on this weekend? Outside of Irish age group matches.
Stick around and you may find out.
