Nearly got my 3 wins! Unbelievably it was the fitba’ team wot won it! McTominay scoring in the last minute with a very tender part of his anatomy. (No, not his head). And hard luck Embra!
What would rather have Edinburgh fans – a high-scoring and exciting draw, or a dull grinding win (or loss)?
BB, when Bradley was the coach we made it to the European Cup semi final playing sexy rugby but lost heavily to teams with a big pack.
The second half today was scoreless and pretty dull, the Stormers defence was the deciding factor in that second period.
I do prefer the Blair Switch Project (TM) to the stodge of before. Jaco redeemed himself big time today, much more like the player I had seen glimpses of and hoped he would be with Mike Blair as coach.
Immelman is still looking an average signing. Moyano never really got the ball, but the one time he did he launched a good attack.
I’ll be surprised if Immelman troubles the selectors once Boffelli gets to Murrayfield, he is a goal kicker as well as an international fullback/winger
In recent times it has been, yes. Can’t remember any playoffs between Bertie’s Brave Boys getting thumped by the Netherlands and Boogieing All Night after beating Serbia on pens to reach the Euros. There may well have been one or two (and no doubt I’ll be told) but not many.
This has the potential to be the best Scotland team we’ve had for years.
Seems like it might only be the O’s who are shit out of the Welsh lot this weekend. Scarlets may have something to say about that tomorrow of course and it is a bit of a merry-go-round. Well done Dragons, looked very good in that second half while I was cooking the dinner.
@BB – I guess a lot will depend on that play-off draw. Quick look at the records suggests they’ve generally just missed out though often in stronger groups than this one. Hope they make it.
Full back for the Bulls was Grey College 15 in 2017. The full back from their 2013 was EW Viljoen who played at outside half for the Lions today. And from the 2014 side it was Henry Immelman.
More channelling of the O’s there from Cardiff as they turn a very obvious attacking opportunity into a desperate scramble to avoid conceding a try at the other end. Nice break out from Bulls though.
Oh well, I was worried that Cardiff weren’t actually worse than the O’s for a bit, but there was no need. Chances of one or more of the SA teams making the playoffs looking pretty good.
Decent weekend for our sides. Seem to be getting to grips with the way rugby is played and reffed up North. Of course, the Prowoo sides will also work out our sides, so fun and games.
The interview’s here, ticht, and there’s a bit of footage. From 10′ 49 in. First he talks about someone else, a flanker from Maritzburg College, then it’s 3 or 4 minutes about him. He’s very highly-regarded.
Found this interview with Mambo. He’s a Christian and gives it out to God a little but no biggie. He got lucky as a kid in some ways but he comes across as a very dedicated young fella:
Big news is Uruguay stuffed the Yanks tonight so qualify for RWC 2023 as Americas 1.
The United States now have to play Chile to see who gets the second automatic position. Chile handled Canada fairly easily so Canada fail to qualify for a World Cup for the first time ever.
And again!

Connacht attempt to stage a fight-back, but get various cases of the dropsies. 22-35 at FT.

Is it really unusual for Scotland to come second (or sometimes third when it counts) in a group to qualify for a playoff that they then lose?

Cardiff looked pretty good against Connacht as well.
Scarlets have a fair chance tomorrow as it’s a 2nd string that Munster are sending over.

And will get closer with this pen. Cardiff not necessarily any better at competing for their own kicks than the O’s were.

The Bulls are DOMINATING the second half, mostly down to Ulsterman Marcell Coetzee. Their left winger is also very dangerous.

Not the best option from Lloyd with that penalty.
