In theory, there are various English Premiership matches mostly scheduled on top of each other, a tasty Irish derby, and Welsh/Scottish dust-ups, plus some Top14 matches.
I thihnk that’s the first time I’ve seen a pen for not rolling away when the man was on his own side of the ruck with an opponent between him and the ball
The two big injuries to Cardiff players stuffed that match in the second half, Edinburgh just about got back into their stride around the 70 minute mark, but that was a poor Cardiff performance, as poor as I’ve seen from them.
Bradbury put his hand up for the 6N, as did Mark Bennett.
BB, BBC Sport Scotland, based in Glasgow, are shithouses who hate rugby, if it doesn’t involve Mordor and Castle Greyskull they aren’t interested, the odd crumb is thrown to football teams from other areas and non-threatening feelgood stories like when Andy Murray became world number 1 and won Wimbledon, or Curling Olympic medals etc, but otherwise they are failing in their job – BBC “Sport” my arse
Thaum, I’m just thinking that if the worst happens and we have halt the season here, I think we can all take a moment to look at the league table and reflect on a season for the ages
I’m watching on a laptop and the streaming quality on this much is far better then the Embra or Glasgow games, the lighting at Glasgow games is rubbish but that isn’t what I mean
The pictures were OK from the Edinburgh Bitesize Stadium (apart from the guy who kept getting in the way of the camera pictures when Edinburgh scored tries) and Scotstoun always looks dark on the TV, but at least I could see the teams this week.
BB, aye the pictures were okay earlier, but on the laptop I’ve using all day the feed from Thomond is like watching a HD tv, the earlier ones were “okay, it’s on a laptop”
D’you see those three white stripes on the Munster bum? Of course you do, because they’ve stayed clean and everything else is filthy. Why don’t they make the whole kit out of the same thing?
Love how the Glasgow Facebook page is now all full of praise for Danny Wilson and the team. Not so long ago they were saying he was useless and had to go.
Yesterday afternoon at about 2pm , the Codd fishes were sitting in their car on the A306 in the pouring rain, having “volunteered” to stand in the rain as parkrun volunteers first thing in the morning , wondering why we were about to sit in the cold and wet to watch a game that was being broadcast into the warmth of our home. Of course 3 hours later there was no argument as the mighty Quins repeated their just in time win technique. Being in a sold out crowd bellowing support and germs everywhere was a fabulous experience. Congrats to both teams on a hard fought game in atrocious conditions
Morning all!
Pissing down here, so probably snow and hail ‘oop North’!
News for Scottish fans:
1. new, slim-line Hogg was really good yesterday
2. newly fit Jonny Gray was good yesterday
3. Solid Sam Skinner was solid yesterday
It was a grand game for neutral romantics………………….it’s a pity Hepburn did his thing; I was convinced as half-time approached that Exeter would win……………….
Glorious sun here. Certainly Exeter looked to be back to their old , if predictable ways yesterday. Their second try was an absolute classic of its kind
Munster will be pleased with the win last night. Drove up to Limerick and opening phases didn’t give any great hope, and I suppose you could say we were lucky not to lose Crowley as well Zebo.
Ulster’s first try was annoying from the point of view that Adamson called stopped once twice on the maul…but at least he tended to be fairly consistent on it through the remainder of the game.
At that point, things looked bad but Munster began to pull themselves together. Albeit we had a re-run of the Connacht match with N pick and jams – at least this time we took the 3pts. But there was a point where French was stood on the left touchline and everyone else was grouped around the ruck about 5 metres out – like a bunch of U12s. The entire East stand were shouting “go wide” and Farrell ran into 2 Ulster tackles. Lesson seemed to be learned in the 2nd half when Casey found Haley out wide in a similar situation.
Ulster were pretty disappointing after the bright start. A win in those circumstances was good and it was an improvement on Connacht but not a great game. Although it was cold and wet – with occasional hail.
Meanwhile – back locally our U16 girls are through to the Munster final. They beat Bruff 26-0 (yes, the Bruff of John ‘the Bull’ Hayes). We’ve built a decent girls section with teams at U14, 16 and U18. (Though U12s look a bit thin this season – it’s a continual process to keep recruiting and growing the age groups). The U16s run everything – if I were critical I’d say they ought to straighten the line more often. On a drier day I reckon they’d have scored 50, but it’s hard to argue with 4 tries to none and I’d guess 70% possession and territory.
U16 boys had a decent 18-7 win over Highfield – beat Midleton 26-0 first time out before Christmas. 2 wins out of 2 home games. 3 matches left – 2 away….so some way to go yet.
Weekendus horibilis on Bru. Got one match in the English league right and that was a finger slip on my phone – wanted it to be Leicester winning but picked Wasps by mistake, earning a thoroughly deserved wooden spoon in the process. That rogue Iks took the yellow cap.
Embra have been decent, they left a couple of scores out there.
Mark Bennett has been really very good.
Kinghorn has been his usual – a couple of clumsy looking mistakes and then just sublime vision and passing

Bonus point try! Suspect it may be a good job I can’t understand the Welsh commentary. Get the feeling they might not be too happy with things.
