Pack your suitcases and prepare for Round Two of the European Cup.
Cardiff v Harlequins
Home advantage and Ellis Jenkins won’t do enough for Cardiff against in-form Quins. Quins by 10.
Castres v Munster
No-one will ever know the result of this match as anyone who attempts to watch it will die the most horrible of deaths from boredom, judging by the reverse fixture.
Wasps v Toulouse
Ooh. Toulouse by at least 35.
Ospreys v Racing 92
Surprisingly, Racing 92 are languishing even further down the Top 14 table than Ospreys are in the URC. I still think they’ll win, though – by about 12.
Connacht v Leicester
This could be the surprise of the weekend, possibly depending on the weather. Connacht by 3.
La Rochelle v Bath
Bath to take a Bath. La Rochelle by 20.
Exeter v Glasgow Warriors
Glasgow have been looking the business in their last couple of matches, and Exeter are not what they were last year. Weegies by 6.
Bristol v Stade Français
Neither side setting the world on fire this season, so home players by 4.
Leinster v Montpellier
Despite being toppled off the top of the URC, Leinster remain a team to be very scared of, and are at home. Blue Meanies by 17.
Bordeaux v Scarlets
Ooh là là, les Médocs par approximately neufty.
Northampton v Ulster
Will the return of Baloucoune and Hume mean an Ulster away win? Probably not, but I’m going for Ulster by 7 anyway. (This is why I never win the leagues.)
Clermont v Sale
Oh dear, Yellow Army by 30.

Thanks Thauma! Believe I promised the conclusion to my Cameroon trip last year. Not yet as bad as Larry, but I need to get it to you soonest! Or soonish. Some time.

TRY Cardiff! Quite a good one, too.

It was funny, I was just saying to mister, I’m not sure they should be trying these no-look passes what with their 11 weeks without playing, when bang goes the try.

Erm … obviously, I meant Cardiff by 10.

(No, I don’t think they’ll keep this up.)

Yeah, bad idea to go for the second scrum there from Quins

3 tries in the Cardiff match.

This is turning into an entertaining match.

I’m sure I saw (twice) the Quins’ 13 holding back a Cardiff player off the ball, preventing him from catching the kick, which might just have put him in. Then Quins awarded the penalty.

It’s the next channel over Thaum. I just flick over to see the score when there’s a break in the Cardiff game.

Quins score nearly 5 mins into OT, with Cardiff having a player sent off. Smith’s conversion misses, so Cardiff lead by 2 pt!

Q: since the Cardiff player got the yellow card on around the 43 minute mark on the first half, does he come back on at 47 minutes or 50 minutes?
I guess we’ll find out soon enough

Was wondering the same thing myself. Assume it’s 10 mins of playing time, so 47.

Main commentator on it now. Why don’t they know the law?

The Cardiff players are latching on to the carrier before they even pick up the ball, let alone before contact.

So much has just happened!
Marler with a dodgy tackle that some thought could have been a red (not me; thought pen only). Then Cardiff look to score, but multiple areas of concern.

So the try is awarded, and it’s the BP one.

And Care scores, also for a BP. But Cardiff still ahead on the scoreboard (33-26). Less than 20 mins to go.

I’ve done everything I can, Thaum, it’s a brand new installation of the OS so it’s not that either

Edinburgh battered Cardiff last week by keeping their defence tight and shipping it wide very quickly, there are a lot of Cardiff players in shot at every ruck but Quins aren’t exploiting it.
LikeLike
So Cardiff had a kickable penalty, chose to go to the corner, lost it, and have now lost a man to the bin and the Quins are in their 22.

Thaum, I’ll have a look at it, it’s a Mac that I’ve inherited from one of the daughters. I factory reset it and installed the latest OS

Well, Cardiff have thrown this away for a couple of reasons. Didn’t go for the pen, and could’ve gone for a drop goal just now. Now its a draw and Smith lining up for the match-deciding pen as the clock is red. Can he do it? Yes.
