I am well pleased with that. Munster were certainly below par, and I think we had the rub of the ref (so to speak), but it was a convincing win nevertheless.

Good to see Baloucoune back to form, Thaum.

    What’s the news on Lowry?

On Lowry, I dunno: no updates in past fortnight that I’ve seen. He had a nasty head injury.

    That’s not a try

Even with red-tinted spectacles – hard to see there’s clear and obvious evidence that Moore grounds it …

I think Munster are just waiting for Van Graan to be gone

That – alas – appears to be the case. There was no case to have Murray/Carbery starting over Casey and Healy especially after the fiasco against Leinster ‘B’…. but senior players get priority no matter what form they are in…. and we’ve all heard the “form is temporary…class is permanent” trope but if that we’re really true any number of past legends would still be playing.

Hopefully, Rowntree can start with a clean slate and make players earn their places.

I guess he’s been on the plane home since the Toulouse game …can’t impute any blame to him for that with coaching staff that are on the way out too. ..

Looking like Saints for the 4th playoff spot, seeing as they are 30 odd points up at halftime against the Falcons. Glaws making a good showing against Saracens 2s, 3 tries at oranges, but could have been 4 or 5.

Thought about going to this Leinster game today but we went for a decent cycle along the canal instead. Have watched the 2nd half and Glasgow are an embarrassment.

    2019 final was Glasgow 15 – 18 Leinster.

Leinster are a better side now than they were then, I think, but Glasgow are not even a shadow of what they were then, and certainly nothing like the team that won the title a few years before.

Ronan O’Gara did a good talk after the final last week, rather than the usual platitudes and meaningless statements he delivered a considered, if brief, analysis on how LaRoch went after Leinster and he had me convinced that this was the blue print and that Glasgow might overcome the odds if they stuck to the plan.

I switched today’s game over at half time and watched Northampton run in tries for fun against Newcastle instead. Glasgow are at a low ebb, there is just no urgency or desire in that team.

Think Huw Jones would be better staying at Quins and being a backup fullback than coming back to this Glasgow side, and being ‘coached’ by Danny Wilson.

As an Exeter supporter I am so chuffed for them and their crowd – 2 full strength teams (apart from any injuries) going at it tit for tat for 80 minutes – Exeter running out winners at home.
    That’ll sell season tickets!
Some of the other results were real end-of-term stuff – but shame on Saracens.

Ticht – there are some good young backs, but the pack needs a complete facelift. Somebody needs to put rockets up various arses, Ryan Wilson is good at winding people up but not much else these days. Price has gone backwards, Horne The Younger seems to have disappeared. As usual there are various Glasgow FB fans blaming the SRU, but it wasn’t the SRU that elbowed Gibson-Park (that was Thaum…). I also suspect a fair few season tickets might not be renewed for next year.
We are getting one of the job lot of Sale du Preez’s (probably the worst one), plus another South African, hopefully that will give us a bit of much needed grunt up front. But mainly I think we need a new coach.

Aye, BB, I’ve seen that on the Glasgow forum, when they were winning it was in spite of the SRU and when they are losing it’s because of the SRU.

You’re right about the senior players, but Ryan Wilson has had a real drop off, even last year he was playing some of his best rugby. Okay Glasgow were missing Scott Cummings, Rory Darge and Matt Fagerson, all nailed-on starters for Glasgow and Scotland (heir-apparent in Darge’s case for Scotland), but it was the lack of urgency and desire that was shocking.

A wee bit scrappy in Cape Town, we haven’t really had any phase play, I think Mark Bennett has had one pass and that was off a set move.

    That’s our season over.

I think we will be stronger next year, we’ve had a new coach and a new way of playing this year. The back row will welcome back Jamie Ritchie and Bill Mata, Goosen will strengthen the back three.

Kinghorn is still very much a full back playing ten, he will improve.

Shiel needs game time, the zip in his pass is so obviously better than Pyrgos’

Good luck Stormers, I really enjoy having the Saffer teams in the competition, it has added a lot

  47. Stormers probably should have put that to bed earlier in the piece, but a combination of white line fever and excellent defensive reading kept them out. If Evan Roos isn’t a Bok this year then quite frankly I’ll pay for his ticket to Scotland. He’s a machine and light years ahead of Jasper Wiese and even a the right protĂ©gĂ© for Vermeulen to mentor.

Edinburgh did well. Crosbie looked very strong and the wingers were feisty.

The Stormers’ game is good to watch. Mannie Libbok had a hard time at the Bulls but he’s getting more and more assured. Like Gelant, he kicks off both feet with equal facility. Having those two genuine play-makers is a great help to them.

Gelant’s off for next season, hope he gets a look in for the Boks in the Summer tests.
