Autumn Internationals: Third Week

Being short of time as I’m travelling tomorrow, I have shamelessly stolen Deebee7‘s prognostications.

But first, I’m sure we can all rejoice that Stuart McCloskey has kept his starting place on the Ireland team with Aki relegated to the bench.

Your results for the weekend:

Tonga v Uruguay: Tonga by 14 – Tonga are enjoying playing against Spanish speaking sides, and will dish the pain once again!

Italy v South Africa: South Africa by 4 – Boks have had two narrow losses and will look to get their tour on the board, with four straight losses for the two sides so far. Bench to haul them over the line.

Wales v Georgia: Wales by 19 – good win for Wales last week and they’ll look to build on that (and cement their place in the 6N at Georgia’s expense).

Romania v Samoa: Samoa by 6 – just because I don’t have a clue, but Samoa seem to better at the moment.

Scotland v Argentina: Argentina by 3 – Did Scotland blow a gasket against the Kiwis last week? Argentina have some good scalps this year and will look to take a Scottish one on their own turf.

England v New Zealand: New Zealand by 9 – don’t think it’ll be a shellacking, but the Kiwis are cruising this November tour after a dodgy start against Japan.

Ireland v Australia: Ireland by 8 Aussies are one from three, but all their matches have been single point affairs so far. Ireland will put a bit of distance on the scoreboard, but not that much.

France v Japan: France by 24 Japan won’t be as bad as they were against England, but they also don’t have the ability to step up and close the gap that much either. France for win 13 on the trot and getting within touching distance of some serious records.

Just heard the ref say ‘sous le mont’ (under the mountain) instead of ‘seulement’ (only). Unless he was talking about being buried under the forwards.

Came back from dog-walking for the second half of Clermont v Stormers, which is very entertaining. Seems the first half was poor, with a HT score of 3-14. It’s now 13-14.

Fine comeback win for Gloucester – Big Ben played the full 80!
Willis had a fine game for Bordeaux. Fijian Tuisue maro of the match for a great 2nd half.

  8. Glaws win with a try in the 77th minute to take the lead. tuisui is mom for coming on as a sub and injecting a bit of heavyweight go forward, but Val R-R again looked superb. Best moment for me was a no look pass from Ben Morgan that led to a great line break, Ugo described it as pure filth.
Willis ( Jack ) played really well for Bordeaux. Frazer Balmain stretchered off with his leg in a blow up brace, hope its not as serious as it looked.

  9. Watched Glaws instead of Morrocco because I couldn’t bare to see Ronaldo slither his way to a semi. Well done Morocco, first African team to make the world Cup semis, I would have had Portugal as favourites to get thru to the final. Morocco Croatia final anyone ?

  17. LAR seem to have taken their foot off the pedal and Saints have pulled back two tries in the last 15 mins of the match. Final score 12-46.

(I missed that they were playing in France, so it was a foggy night in LAR.)

You’ve missed some great halves of football then, Ticht. (There have been some shite halves too, but then the same could be said of a lot of rugby games).

Well to be honest, the second half of England against France is better than the first half of Castres against Exeter.

Commiserations English fans. IMO, England could’ve and should’ve gone through. France lucky there. England were beaten by a more experienced team but they’ll get there. Sooner than later.

See Edinburgh are succeeding in grasping defeat from the jaws of victory again. Failed to score a breakaway try. then blew an overlap, then McInally threw straight to Sarries from his own lineout.
