I’ve just read some lovely news, a friend of mine from school has become the first woman president of my hometown rugby club.
Her dad was president back when I played there.

The Reds are 22-15 up against the Chiefs, inside the last 20 minutes! This would be a huge result for them if they could beat the all-conquering, undefeated Chiefs! On the Chiefs home patch too.

Hope you get better soon, Ticht! My lad is suffering a second bout of Covid at the moment, as well. You’re not my son, are you? I did some crazy things as a youngster.

Rugby interrupted by work. 22-25, Reds ahead with about 2 minutes to go!

Wow, that was a tense finish, well done the Stern Koalas

Into the last minute. Chiefs 6 has taken a nasty elbow to the head – looks accidental, but let’s see what the ref says. Tackler rolling away from the contact and swinging elbow caught the player on the ground.
Nothing in it. Scrum Chiefs on the centre spot with 45 seconds left. Free kick, scrum again. Hooter gone. Last play. Reds destroy Chiefs scrum, but they shovel it out and go side to side under another advantage! They’re gonna do it, aren’t they?
20 phases and counting. 27 phases and OVER! But held up! No time for a scrum and the Reds hang on for a first win against the Chiefs in NZ in a decade! They’re understandably elated.

Well now, where was I? My laptop broke. I got shingles (hospitalised) and then got Covid. Plus, the blog looks quite different. Did I miss anything?

Had I got around to writing an ATL for this weekend, it was going to look forward to the match-up between Ala’alatoa and Feki’fekitoa, but as it turns out the latter is on the injured list anyway.

Munster win by one point! Blue Meanies defeated on home turf!

Absolutely breathless stuff. Three times at least Munster turned down a shot at goal for the corner, and failed to get any points from it. Then they ended up 2 points down, and the BMs were resurgent. But Munster were not about to give up.

What a game, what a performance from Munster, well done them

If Munster pull this off there can be no doubters, three away games in the play offs

I was hacked off that Munster beat us, but I don’t think we would have beaten Leinster if we had won, so I feel a bit better now!
Well done Munster! (And Trisk!). (And T-Cod – you can stop staring now!).

I suppose if there was one team that was bloody minded enough to beat Leinster on their home patch, it would be Munster.

It’s good that a team can’t win a semi final with their B side, no fault on Leinster’s part, they played the hand that they were dealt, but it would demean the competition somewhat if they can rest players at this stage in the proceedings.
Having said that, not many teams in the URC would have won in Dublin yesterday, it took a full on performance to do it.
Leinster will be going all out for next week now, that should be a cracker of a match, La Roch possess some big specimens in the pack, which is where Leinster can be undone. On the other hand if they can get their ruck speed up to their normal level they can cut teams apart with their training ground moves

Ticht – La Rochelle’s coach will be ecstatic at yesterday’s victory and wanting another one very badly. ;-)

Great day for the Stormers! Get to the final and get to host it. Methinks Leo Cullen underestimated Munster and/or overestimated his own strength in depth. Even if it was only a single point loss. I know he and Leinster are desperate to win the Big Cup, but surely the URC deserves better?

Thanks for the heads up on the Brave browser, Refit, I’ve been using it along with a vpn for that vip site on my ancient windows laptop.
I’ll give Vivaldi a go instead. I have BT Sport and via play in my broadband subscriptions, in fact I pay next to eff all for them because I managed to haggle successfully with virgin, but for Sky sports I still need an alternative.

Vivaldi’s also nice on mobile, as the adblocker makes pages on certain sites a lot more manageable.
