Here be rugby
Got caught napping by the bank holidays and have only just realised that today is Friday, and there is European Cup rugby on! So imagine a long and hilariously funny post here. Or just skip to the fixtures. Onna telly this weekend Showing matches that are televised in the UK and Ireland or on popular … Continue reading European Cups, Round Five
The pundits tell us that Ireland will almost certainly win the championship, as they only need a single point from their match given their enormous points difference. How wrong they are. TAO (pictured) wants to out-perform Predict-A-Bear, and has shared her wisdom and predictions through the medium of interpretive wags. Wales v Italy In a … Continue reading Six Nations 2024: Super Saturday
It’s here! The return that nobody expected (or wanted…) Predict-A-Bear is back, along with his partner in crime, Shug (The Dug). Together, they will cast a beady eye over this week’s Six Nations games and decide the (probable) winner. All 3 games could be tight, and then again, all 3 games could be one-sided batterings. … Continue reading Six Nations 2024: Round Four
Starters: The U20s play on Friday. The first amuse-bouche will be Ireland vs Wales at 7:15 pm The second one will be Scotland vs England at … the same time! Duh! The bloody Six Nations Committee have not understood yet that some of us would like to see all the games. And VCRs aren’t cheap … Continue reading Six Nations 2024: Round Three
Well, well, well, I really enjoyed the opening round of the 2024 Six Nations. I didn’t see Ireland smashing France like that and it’s always nice when it’s not your team imploding like Scotland did against Wales (although I thought the win was just about deserved in the end). Italy were a lot better and … Continue reading Six Nations 2024: Round Two
France’s pack are set to make pieces of Guinness stew out of the Irish gristle, to be mopped up and washed down with aplomb by their wonderful cork-popping backs, Dupont or no. End of an era for Irish rugby, back to the drawing board. Italy to spring the surprise of the tournament in week one, … Continue reading Six Nations 2024: Round One
You might think that Cardiff are completely out of the Champions Cup, but you’d be wrong! And you’d probably get very rich betting on them to go through. They just need a bonus-point victory over Racing 92 in Paris and for Ulster to not get more than one point. Connacht, languishing at the bottom of … Continue reading European Cups, Round Four
Worn out after typing all the Saturday fixtures, so I’ll just say: we have Hume and McCloskey in the centre. Antoine who? Onna telly this weekend Showing matches that are televised in the UK and Ireland or on popular subscription services. Bold indicates free-to-view. Times are in the UK zone, so adjust as necessary. Friday … Continue reading European Cups, Round Three

Dear slightly creepy Rugby Santa, I have been a very good girl this year what with refraining from England-bashing, Saracens-bashing and most specifically Owen-bashing. So please don’t give me the fucking coal again, although it might come in handy during this Tory-inflicted cost of living crisis. However, more than one piece would be nice. Can … Continue reading Letter to Rugby Santa
