Gazing at life through a haze of opiates, I’m intensely relaxed about not getting a proper blog post up, and just giving you the matches.
But I will add an emphatic TSK!* that the Cardiff and Ulster matches have yet again been scheduled at the same time.
*This is more vehement than a PFFT!
6N Blog Meet Update
The Heidelberg Tourist Information Bureau has posted this:
Falcon tries to decide whether to deliver a TSK! or a PFFT!
And this.
And as a reminder, here’s the info.

Ulster suddenly conceding a lot of penalties, and they’re on a team warning. Still 10 mins to go, and it’s Munster (gulp).

Interesting: McCloskey gets a bit of a piggy-back ride from a Munster player, and then is flipped over, gets up and says ‘It’s okay’, but the ref decides to award a yellow anyway.

Sale get their bonus point try from a maul – but we have another fight, and Marler isn’t even on the field!

Final score: 38 – 17. I’m damn pleased with that, and I think anyone would be against Munster, even if you’re at home.

Try scored, Quins playerpulls someone out (and gets a penalty on the restart) then another Quins player throws Yarde out (because he apparently put a shoulder on Robshaw). Two yellows, one for Yarde and one for Simmons.

Ulster very impressive, Munster in a bit of disarray, their B side looked a lot better against Edinburgh a few weeks ago than this selection tonight.

Score is 34-10, and still 14 minutes left. Might be some more fights in this.

‘For what did Trump tweet back in November 2011, as the US entered an election year? “In order to get [re-]elected, @BarackObama will start a war with Iran.”’

At least they didn’t end up with that war monger Clinton.

New Sale scrum half on – Gus Warr (?) – don’t recognise the name, but apparently one of us (not South African).

Chimpie, he’s a moron. But we know that. He’s in a long long long long line of American Presidents doing whatever the fuck they like against what they think are weaker countries.

Another Sale try in overtime! 6 tries – DCI will be pleased. Final score 48-10.

He’s played for England Under 20, BB. Not that that means he can’t also be Scottish. Bryan Redpath’s second boy, Murray, has been ripping it up at scrum half for his school team this season.
This is him a few backs – also Carwyn Tuipulotu in the van:

Xmas has been busy but good. Posting has been slow. However, just home from that rout and need to smear my satisfaction all over the internet. Munster – and this is perhaps their greatest strength – never give you much for free and always have flattering scoreline, but that only made this feel more legit. We look very good. Pity those Dub synts will win all the trophies. But, Still, we are genuinely very good and that’s lovely.

Not a single flake till now, Slade. When I first moved here you could almost guarantee snowfall at this time of year.
These days I’m wondering whether to bother with the tyre change from summer to winter, as it’s been 5 or 6 years now without a proper snowfall. Current temp outside is 10°!

Nein, ich bin Schön.
Schön is a bit of a catch-all word here DoggyBone, like ‘nice,’ is in English.
It can be a bit disconcerting when Germans speaking English directly translate Schön into ‘beautiful’.
E.g. It’s ‘nice that you make it’ becomes ‘it’s beautiful that you could make it’, which of course works for me when I grace an event, but which doesn’t feel right in general parlance.

I read somewhere how the POTUS can reflect in the most banal way the cultural norms of the times. So where Ronnie Reagan was the movie president and JFK the TV one, Trump is your reality TV and Social Media Golem.

Not sure I buy that. Why movies for Reagan (apart from him being an actor)? If I had to make some claim, I’d go with the VCR president or maybe the unsophisticated early shoot-em-‘up video games president.
Why TV for JFK (apart from him not sweating in the debate)?
This is a view as well – Trump as a result of the banalification of one of the 20th Century’s greatest writers to a few soundbites that look good on a tattoo: https://www.drb.ie/essays/a-fetish-for-failure
