Same to you and yours, Refit!

I scheduled the post cos I wasn’t sure I’d still be up. But I am. Have champagne. :-)

    I concur, Refit.
Thatchers Vintage, just like champagne, but better and cheaper.

    All the best Slade.

We may be a very small community here on this tiny outpost/dinghy from the old site, but I still enjoy all of your company.

  8. The weather conditions/pitch state in the Os/Blues match reminds me of when I played rugby at school.

  9. The Osprey’s fullback and (I think) one of the wingers do a painfull Keystone Cops impression, trying to stop Mason Brady from scoring – sliding head first into each other.

Despite the conditions, this is a very entertaining game. Cardiff leading 5-15, coming up to 30mins.

Refit – the mister commented that you’d want your wellies for this.

  11. My mistake, it was Lane scoring, with the Keystone moment.

Thaum – aye. I can imagine some very tired legs after this match, with all the additional weight being lugged around from the mud.

I’ve seen two very good Ospreys tries: one by the young no. 8, and one by the left winger.

After disappearing for a while, then showing the second try I mentioned, the picture and audio have gone for good. Cardiff had about 4 minutes to get a converted try to win by one point.

Bonne année à vous tous. It’s a bit sad that there are so few of us left in the dinghy but the quality makes up for the lost numbers.
May 2024 bring you health and joy. And some exhilarating rugby. Enjoy!

Just heard that it’s Ireland and France kicking off the 6N, Flair. Not sure I’m very happy about that!

Commentator: And Connacht claim the victory. Geez, it was an ugly game.\

Only saw the last five minutesish and the only try. Hansen picked up a worrying injury, and someone else has as well.

Another commentator has described the match as ‘interminable’. Looks like we picked the right one to watch!

Thaum, France are still hungover after their early RWC exit. The expectations were (righly) high so the blame game has been going on since that damn QF.
The new contract between the FFR and the clubs is less favorable to the national XV. Dupont’s out for at least a year, Galthié had to change half his assistants, the top players are mostly in poor shape (too much rugby to play for the past two years). The club scene is thriving but the mood is still bleak. For just a point…
For all the bitter disappointment, I won’t forget how Galthié changed the team and made France once again one of the most entertaining teams to watch.

TRY Timoney, running down the pitch from nearly half-way! (At least, it will be when he tells it.)

Dupont’s out for at least a year

Wow, I did not know that – that’s terrible for him, and for French rugby. What happened? Sure I’ve seen him playing in the European Cup matches?

We are also unchuffed with our early exit, of course.

And TRY Stockdale! Great match!!! :-)

Bastard blue meanies score again. If they put the conversion over, they’ll be ahead as Cooney missed one.

Think Dupont’s taking time out because he wants to have a go at the Sevens in the Paris Olympics. Don’t know why that would mean he would take a year out – maybe just the rest of this season.

Dupont’s choice: after a few games in January with Toulouse, he will play with France 7, hoping for a gold medal at the Paris Olympics. Then, probably a 6 months sabbatical.

Our line-out is not going well, and that’s with Herring. Leinster will be going for the corner again.

Ulster decide to run it from the 22 and knock it on. Then Leinster also knock on.

Leinster are apparently allowed to flop all over the ball with impunity, while Hendo got pinged for the same thing.

Anyway, they get into our 22, and the Leprechaun tries a drop goal which bounces off the horizontal bar, goes to blue hands, and they score in the corner.
